Music rehearsal for 2010 marching band at 6:00 PM - no color guard. - Monday, July19th is CHILI'S GIVE BACK TO JPS NIGHT! Please visit Chili's on Oak Tree Road from 11:00 AM til 11:00 PM and 10% of your bill will be donated back to the JPS Band Program. Let someone else do the cooking and enjoy supporting the band at the same time! Coupons will be available via email. Make sure the drum majors have your email address! - PLEASE continue to check the calendar for upcoming events and practices. CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU: Congratulations to the new JPS Marching Hawks Drum Majors for 2010: Veronica Little, Sean Taylor and Mark Garabedian, Captains: Jason Suh and Raymond Wang, Color Guard Captain: Rena Patel and Color Guard Co-Captain: Francine Olbermann. Best of Luck to all of you! Thank you to Barbara Gibbons and Chris Little for organizing the Band Recognition Night. Everyone had a great time. Thank you to David Cutler and his "band" of merry men who put together our great 11th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show! Thank you too to the parents, students and staff who helped volunteer to make this years show a wonderful success. To the drivers of those amazing vintage cars and bikes - thank you for your support to the music program and bringing us another beautiful sunny day. We hope to see you all again next year! Congratulations to the JPS Jazz Ensemble. NJ STATE CHAMPIONS! Also, congratulations to Terry Peng for receiving an Outstanding Soloist Award, Don Montemarno for an Honorable Mention Soloist Award and to the entire Jazz Ensemble for their Sight Reading Award. Congratulations on your "back to back" Championships! CONGRATULATIONS to all the Senior Class of 2010 scholarship recipients. Thank you to all the Jazz Musicians, current and alumni for making our Jazz Extravaganza a night to remember. Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble for being invited to the NJ State Gala evening performance. The Gala was held at Rowan University this year and as always they sounded fantastic. Thanks you to all the parents, JPS BEAT students and staff for making this years NJ State Jazz Championship a wonderful evening. Thank you to all the parents, students and staff at JPS for making the Concert Band Competition a success. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed their dinner at Chili's on June 19th and supported the bands! We hope to see you again on July 19th. Congratulations to the JPS Indoor Guard for placing Fourth in the Main Championships. The Guard performed a wonderful show! Congratulations to Heather for being a great Captain; we will all miss you next year. Thank you to Julie and Patricia for all that you do for the JPS Indoor Guard. You are all "BEAUTIFUL"! Thank you for a great season. Thank you to all the parents, students and staff at JPS for making our Jazz Festival such a success! A special thank you to our judges Joe Mosello, Pete DeSiena and Richard DeRosa who also performed with our Jazz Ensemble at the end of the evening. Everyone had a great time! Thank you to Mr. Tarby and Mr. Paull for driving our equipment, uniforms and luggage to and from Disney. Thank you to the all chaperones and staff for keeping our children safe while still allowing them to have a great time. Thank you to MRS. EICHERT for organizing the entire trip. To the Senior Class of 2010, may you always keep these Disney memories close to your heart and to the underclassmen, they are not leaving you (so stop crying Marc), they are moving on to allow you to continue on with the wonderful tradition of the JPS Band. We hope everyone enjoyed the trip! Congratulations to the JPS Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble for both scoring Gold Awards in the competition in Bridgewater on 3/16. Special awards for best soloists of the evening went to Brian Eichert and Ryan Gibbons. THANK YOU to all the JPS Parents, Friends, Alumni, JPS B.E.A.T. students and the Rutgers Mu Beta Psi Fraternity for all the countless hours of volunteering at the JPS Indoor Winter Guard Show on 2/20. We couldn't have done it without you. The competition was a ROUSING success! Congrautlations to the JPS All State Members who performed with the NJ All State Bands on 2/20 at the NJ PAC.
